Working for a real estate attorney in Wilton, Maine during college summer vacations piqued Sue’s interest in real estate.  After graduation she moved to Portland and accepted a position as Pierce Atwood’s first real estate paralegal.  Examining titles in “The Era Before Title Insurance” provided a solid foundation for her subsequent move to Northeast Land Title in 1985, one of Maine’s busiest title companies, and managing title review, title insurance and secondary market closings.

As office manager at Northeast, she was responsible for day-to-day operations, opening two satellite offices and coordinating two office moves.  She has become a familiar face at closing tables throughout Southern Maine having conducted literally thousands of closings during her career.  It was this background of solid title research, office management and closing experience that led her to open Bay Area Title Services in 2001.

When Sue is not at the closing table or preparing for closings, she can be found kayaking, boating, gardening or spoiling her husband, Rick, and their Sheltie, Elci.
